The Planes

Xum

A realm of corrupted forces and deep shadow. Structurally adjacent to Veraldié — a proximity that theological scholarship has found persistently uncomfortable.

Xum exists in theological and scholarly records primarily as a realm from which nothing pleasant originates, a place defined by its relationship to corruption, twisted energy, and forces that operate outside normal Prismal and Spiritual frameworks. Its structural proximity to Veraldié is a fact of cosmological origin that most scholarship would prefer were otherwise.

Direct knowledge of Xum is limited. The beings that originate there do not typically arrive as willing correspondents. What is known comes from examination of what crosses over, from a small body of accounts from practitioners who have approached the dimensional boundary, and from the theological inference of scholars who have spent significant effort reasoning backward from the effects to the cause.
